Ellis Woodman

Member of the Jury for the European Prize for Urban Public Space (2016-2018)

Ellis studied architecture at the universities of Cambridge and North London and worked as an architect for eight years before becoming a professional critic in 2003. He became The Daily Telegraph's architecture critic in 2007 and in the following year curated Home/Away: 5 British Architects Build Housing in Europe at the British Pavilion of the Venice Biennale.

He is the author of The Architecture of James Gowan: Modernity and Reinvention (Black Dog, 2008) and has contributed essays to publications on architectural practices, including Office KGDVS, Biq, David Chipperfield Architects and Peter Markli.

Ellis is critic-at-large for The Architectural Review  and Architect's Journal
