Architect, researcher, senior teaching assistant at the Faculty of Architecture University of Sarajevo and a member of the Expert Committee of the European Prize for Urban Public Space since the 2016 edition.
Elša Turkušić Jurić studied at the Faculty of Architecture in Sarajevo and at the Escola Tecnica Superior d`Arquitectura de Barcelona. She holds master of science (2010) and Phd (2014) in architecture and urbanism. Since 2007 she works as a senior teaching assistant at the Department of Architectural Design at the Faculty of Architecture University of Sarajevo. She worked for the foundation The Aga Khan Trust for Culture on the project Historic Cities Support Program: Conservation and Revitalization of Historic Mostar and for the foundation Cultural Heritage without Borders (Sweden), cooperated on the several projects with the Institute for the Protection of Cultural-Historical and Natural Heritage of Canton Sarajevo, and with the Institute for Architecture and Urbanism (Sarajevo). She is author and co-author of several esseys and scientific articles based on researching modern architectural tendencies in the context of cultural and social tendencies. She is a Bosnia-Herzegovina's voting member for ICOMOS International Committee on 20th Century Heritage and independent expert of Mies vdr Rohe Award EU for Architecture.
