Roman Rutkowski

Architect. Member of the Prize’s Board of Experts.

With a PhD from the Wrocław University of Science and Technology, where he also obtained his first degree, he has been a lecturer in the Faculty of Architecture in Bratislava. As a researcher, he is a member of SARP (Association of Polish Architects) and author of numerous publications on contemporary architecture, including, for example, a chapter in the book on the architect Tomasz Mańkowski Second Conversations (third volume in the series “The Most Important Is Architecture”, EMG, 2012). As an architecture critic, he writes regularly for the Polish press and is a columnist for the magazine A10.

In the professional area of his work, he is head of the studio Roman Rutkowski Architects in Wrocław. His career was recognised by the Chicago Athenaeum and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies in 2012, when he was named one of the forty young architects with the most promising professional careers.
