Laida Memba Ikuga

Architect. Member of the Prize’s Board of Experts (2022-2024)

With a degree in Architecture from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia and MSc in Architecture from the University of Illinois at Chicago, her area of research is the relationship between inhabited space and contemporary socio cultural practices in the city of Malabo. She has lectured in the La Salle School of Architecture at the Ramon Llull University, the Elisava School of Design and worked in several international CSR projects. 

She is a member of the GAMUC research group which studies architecture and urban planning in Spain’s former colonies in Africa and co-director of Guinea Heritage, a project that brings together strategies of research, knowledge, and diffusion of the heritage of Equatorial Guinea.
