"Polis" exhibition travels to Atlanta (USA)

Kennesaw State University

Previously on display at Dupont Underground in Washington, the show continues its tour of the United States.

Kennesaw State, a public university with some 45,000 students located in the Atlanta metropolitan area, is the new destination of the Polis exhibition. This version, conceived under the supervision of the Cultural Office of the Embassy of Spain in the United States, presents the best public space interventions in Spanish cities during the last two decades. The works have been divided into four thematic areas: inclusion, sustainability, memory and participation.

The exhibition provided study materials for architecture students at the university and was accompanied by several parallel activities. During its inauguration on 17 January, Miguel Albero, the Cultural Attaché of the Spanish embassy in the United States, participated by introducing a panel discussion on Democratic Public Space Design. The session included the participation of four prominent figures in local architecture and urban planning: Nicolia Robinson (Cooper Carry), Sheba Ross (HKS), Sarah McColley (Perkins and Will) and Deanna Murphy (Sizimore).
