The 2022 Prize Catalogue is available online

The publication, which includes the most outstanding works from the 2022 award and the Jury members’ thoughts about them, is available online.

The 2022 European Prize for Urban Public Space catalogue presents the works that received awards: the winning project “Catharijnesingel”, from the Dutch city of Utrecht, the finalist works from Brussels, Riga, Tolosa, and the Swedish city of Lund, as well as twenty other selected pro-jects.

The catalogue also offers the thoughts of the Jury members on the 2022 award, with contributi-ons from the agricultural engineer, landscape designer, and Jury president, Teresa Galí; architec-ture critic and historian based in Amsterdam and Montreal, Hans Ibelings; anthropologist and expert in heat resilience, from Athens, Eleni Myrivili; architecture critic, curator, lecturer, and publisher based in Basel and Berlin, Andreas Ruby; strategist and creative director focusing on cities, culture, and technology from London, Paloma Strelitz; and the Slovenian architect Špela Videčnik.

Drawing on his or her discipline and experience, each one reflects on the challenges presently facing European cities, especially the meteorological phenomena associated with the climate emergency, and the need to rethink the ways we construct and inhabit cities.
