Francesc Magrinyà Torner

Engineer and urbanist

Associate professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the Technical University of Catalonia (UPC), he is coordinator of the research group ÈXIT (Enginyeria, Xarxes, Infrastructures i Territori – Engineering, Networks, Infrastructure, and Territory) and also a member of another research centre, AGROTECH-UPC, which works in the field of food technology. He was Director of the Strategic Planning Department of the Metropolitan Area of Barcelona from 2015 to 2019, and a researcher in the FoodMapping project, working in the area of participative exploration of food milieus in metropolitan neighbourhoods, analysing their impact in the everyday lives of people and communities in terms of consumption strategies, lifestyles, and health.
