Architecture critic and editor of the magazine Hochparterre in Zurich.
After studying architecture in Düsseldorf and Berlin, he completed postgraduate studies in the history and theory of architecture in Zurich. Axel has lived there since 2000, working as a design assistant at the ETH Zurich. He began writing about architecture in daily newspapers, architecture magazines, online portals and books. He edited several books, taught courses on architectural criticism and lectures. In 2006 he was awarded the Swiss Art Award 2006 in the category of art and architecture education. Since 2007 he has been an associate member of the Association of Swiss Architects and, since 2010, editor of Hochparterre, magazine for architecture, design and planning.
