Adrià Carbonell

Architect. Member of the Prize’s Board of Experts 2022.

Adrià Carbonell is an architect, researcher and educator. His professional practice ranges from architecture and public space to urban planning and territorial design. He is a lecturer in architecture at KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, where he teaches urban theory and urban design in the Sustainable Urban Planning and Design master program. He has previously held teaching positions at KU Leuven, Tallin University of Technology, Umeå University and the American University of Sharjah. 

He is co-founder of Aside, a research collaborative focusing on the interplay between architecture, urbanism and territory. Aside’s work includes writing, editing, exhibiting, curating and applied research, always with an urban focus. He has published widely in international magazines and journals, and is co-editor of the book ‚Infrastructural Love: Caring for Our Architectural Support Systems’ (Birkhäuser, 2022).
