The European Prize for Urban Public Space is now in its final phase which includes two days in which the teams representing the five finalist works in the general category will present their projects in public at the CCCB and the Jury will announce the winning projects.

International ETSAV-CCCB workshop
“No Beach Here” is a week-long workshop bringing together undergraduate students from ETSAV-UPC (Vallès School of Architecture – Polytechnic University of Catalonia) which, taking the Fòrum Baths as its starting point, aims to analyse the specific nature of seafronts and test new ways of appropriately facing and adapting to social and environmental challenges.
The publication, which includes the most outstanding works from the 2022 award and the Jury members’ thoughts about them, is available online.
The complex strip of transition between the city and beach unfolds in a colourful repertoire of sinuous forms that is sufficiently powerful to order the seafront facade and confer on it a unitary character.
The deplorable state of the waterfront after decades of neglect and privatisation has been remedied with a white concrete promenade planted with Aleppo pines and linking beaches, a park, several sports areas, an amphitheatre, and a large paved terrace.
