Debates on collaborative design and social control

img

On 26 September and 4 October, the CCCB will host a series of debates that will address public space from the potential of the collaborative design and limitations imposed by social control and sexual exclusion.

As a place of encounter and exchange, public space is permeated by the values of coexistence but, at the same time, it is a front of conflict where inequality and resistance emerge. With this contradiction as a starting point, the Centre of Contemporary Culture of Barcelona (CCCB) will host a series of debates enrolled in the postgraduate course Public space: urban policies and citizenship. Organised by the Open University of Catalonia (UOC), the Institute for Government and Urban Policies (IGOP) and the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), the debates will consist of two sessions that will address public space from the possibilities offered by collaborative design and from limitations imposed by social control and sexual exclusion.
