Daniel Innerarity, professor of social and political philosophy, delivers the inaugural lecture of the new academic year at the Vallès School of Architecture (ETSAV-UPC).

On this occasion, Innerarity reflects on the city as a public space and its transformations. With all its ambivalence, the city has been the quintessential integrating element of societies, thanks to its centrality, density and contrast with its rural surroundings. Innerarity examines how this integrating function has for some time been challenged by various transformations in our way of life, mainly by changes in its spatial configuration and, now, by the new digital environment in which we live.

This session takes place within the context of collaboration between the European Prize for Urban Public Space of the CCCB and ETSAV.
