A total of 381 projects from 38 countries have been submitted to the 2026 European Prize for Urban Public Space.

On 2 and 3 July, the jury met in Barcelona to review the submissions and deliberate over the course of two days. Chaired by Eva Prats and comprising Angelika Fitz, Monika Konrad, Inês Lobo, Bas Smets and Philip Ursprung, the jury selected the 25 projects that advance to the next stage of the competition.

The shortlisted projects come from 14 countries and reflect a wide diversity of scales, typologies and intervention contexts.

The 25 shortlisted projects will be announced on 7 July. In the next stage, the jury will select five finalists, to be announced on 9 September. Finally, on 14 October, the teams behind the five finalist projects will present their work to the jury in Barcelona. The winning project will be announced at the award ceremony, which will take place on 15 October.
