Luigi Centola

Architect. Member of the Prize’s Board of Experts.

A graduate in Architecture from the University of Naples, he obtained a master’s degree in Design at the Architectural Association School of Architecture in London. He is a member of the American Academy in Rome and has worked in his profession from his studio Centola & Associati, which was founded in 2001 with offices in Salerno and Rome. His studio is notable for using a systematic focus based on sustainability, bringing together innovative strategic planning of landscape and architecture. Moreover, he coordinates the School of Strategic Architecture and the master’s degree in Architecture/Environment which is offered by NewItalianBlood.

Centola & Associati has been awarded numerous prizes, notable among which are the Holcim Europe Award (first prize) and the Holcim Global award (second prize) for its renovation of the Amalfi Valley and Scala Mulini on the Amalfi Coast. The studio took part in the 11th Venice Architecture Biennale with the project Uneternal City and in the Eighth ArchiLab International Exposition in New Orleans with the project Waterpower.
