Architect. Member of the Prize’s Board of Experts.

An architect who combines academic work with design and activism, he is director of Sofproect, Sofia’s planning body. He studied Architecture at the IUAV University of Venice and obtained a master’s degree at the Delft University of Technology (The Netherlands). His professional career is internationally oriented, both in his studies and in his work, which he has taken him to a number of different parts of the world including Scotland, Italy, The Netherlands, and China. Among the projects in which he has participated are Zaryadye Park, Moscow (2013), the Crabbehoff in Dordrecht (2011), the Olympia Quarter in Almere (2009) and the Swiss Re building in Zurich (2008), among others.

He has published numerous articles and given classes and lectures in several European institutions. Between 2014 and 2016 he was director of One Architecture Week, an international festival of contemporary architecture. In 2016 he coordinated a long-term plan for the city of Sofia called Vision Sofia 2050.
