Aneta Vasileva

Architect and journalist. Member of the Committee of Experts for the Prize.

A historian and architecture critic, Vasileva has a master’s degree and PhD in Theory of Architecture from the University of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy in Sofia. Her areas of research are Bulgarian architecture after the Second World War and preservation of architectural heritage. In this domain, she works with the European programme ATRIUM on twentieth-century architecture of totalitarian regimes.

Vasileva is a co-founder and editor of the WhAT Association (WhATA, for short), which engages in contemporary architecture criticism, journalism, and assessment for architectural competitions. She has worked as an architect in the offices of Zoom Studio and Studio Piperov, as well as editing the architecture section of the book The Bulgarian Nouvelle Vague (Edno Magazine, 2012). She is a member of the A10 New European Architecture cooperative.
