Rosi Braidotti (Latisana, 1954) is Distinguished University Professor and director of the Centre for the Humanities at Utrecht University. Born in Italy, she grew up in Australia, where she graduated from the Australian National University in Canberra, after which she obtained a PhD in Philosophy from the Sorbonne University in Paris. She has been teaching at Utrecht University since 1988. Widely regarded as a pioneer in European women’s studies, she has received many awards in recognition of her work, including a Doctorate Honoris Causa from Linköping University (Sweden, 2013) and another from the University of Helsinki (2007), as well as the Erasmus Prize of the European Commission (2010).

Notable among her key works translated into Spanish are Sujetos nómadas (Paidós-Argentina, 2000 – published in English as Nomadic Subjects. Embodiment and Sexual Difference in Contemporary Feminist Theory); Metamorfosis. Hacia una teoría materialista del devenir (Akal, 2003 – published in English as Metamorphoses: Towards a Materialist Theory of Becoming); Feminismo, diferencia sexual y subjetividad nómade (Feminism, Sexual Difference and Nomad Subjectivity, Gedisa, 2004); and Transposiciones (Gedisa 2009 – published in English as Transpositions: On Nomadic Ethics). Her most recent book, The Posthuman (2013), has just appeared in Spanish with the title Lo Posthumano (Gedisa, 2015).
