Architect and architecture critic

Professor of Architectural Projects at the Technical University of Catalonia (UPC), he is also coordinator of the HABITAR research group, and teaches undergraduate and postgraduate courses at the Barcelona School of Architecture.

Since 2007 he has been writing a fortnightly column as an architecture critic for the Catalonia edition of the newspaper El País in addition to other pieces of architecture criticism in a range of reviews. Among his books are Casa Collage. Un ensayo sobre la arquitectura de la casa (Collage House: An Essay on the Architecture of the House, with Pere Fuertes), El plaer de la Ciutat (in English, Taking Pleasure in Our Cities), La Habitación, más allá de la sala de estar (The Room: Beyond the Living Room), the jointly authored Ciudad Recortada (Cutout City), and La calle y la casa. Urbanismo de interiors (Street and Home: Urbanismo of Interiors). With the HABITAR group and a Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness (MINECO) grant he has published Atlas del aprovechamiento arquitectónico (Atlas of Architectural Utilisation). He has recently edited Nº 271 (About Buildings&Food) of the Architects Association of Catalonia (COAC) review Quaderns d’Arquitectura i Urbanisme and, with a Recercaixa grant, has concluded a research project titled La Comida y el espacio público urbano en Barcelona (Food and Urban Public Space in Barcelona).
