Joaquín Tintoré Subirana

Doctor en Oceanografia física

He is a research professor at CSIC (Spanish National Research Council) and director of the Mediterranean Institute of Advanced Studies (IMEDEA).
 He has been director of the first National Programme of Marine Science and Technology and a member of the Scientific Advisory Committee set up to investigate the wreck of the Prestige. His scientific work is marked by an interdisciplinary understanding of marine systems that combines experimental and theoretical approaches while also fostering sustainable management of coastal areas. In 2003, he was awarded the Alexandre Malaspina National Research Prize in Science and Technology of Natural Resources.
