Marta Ill Raga (Barcelona, 1991) currently is an intern giving support to the organization of the European Prize for Urban Public Space (2016) as well as managing and writing contents for the site publicspace.org. She graduated in Political Science and Public Management from the Pompeu Fabra University  (UPF) in 2014, writing her final project on the 2013 urban protests in Turkey and Brazil, in the light of the Right to the City discourses and the reclaiming of public space. She is currently in the process of completing a Research Masters in International Development Studies at the University of Amsterdam (UvA). She recently undertook fieldwork in Rio de Janeiro, where she researched the impacts of security policies and urban revitalization of the Olympic City. During her stay in Rio, she did an internship and wrote for alternative news’ media RioOnWatch, and briefly collaborated with the Metropolitan Observatory at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ).
