Urban planner

Assistant Professor of Urban Geography in the Graduate School of Geography at Clark University. She is interested in popular, improvised and often unofficial urban practices deployed by black and migrant groups, as well as how those practices impact how cities are understood, planned and designed. Her research is concerned also with practices of policing and surveillance that seek to foreclose upon Black urbanism and other collective experiments with the urban. She has been published in Environment and Planning D: Society and Space and the Annals of the American Association of Geographers, and has been supported by the Urban Studies Foundation.
