She earned her degree in Architecture in 1989 from the Lisbon School of Fine Arts. In 2002, she founded her own firm, Inês Lobo Arquitectos, which works on a wide range of projects — from public facilities and housing to the rehabilitation of buildings and the design of public spaces. The office emphasizes a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach, integrating engineering, interior design, and other fields to develop coherent, context-sensitive solutions.

As an educator, Lobo has taught architectural design since the 1990s. She is currently a guest professor at Universidade Autónoma de Lisboa and at ISCTE — Lisbon University Institute. She has also curated and commissioned several architecture exhibitions at international events, such as the Venice Architecture Biennale (2012, 2016, and 2018) and the Ibero-American Architecture and Urbanism Biennale. Lobo has been a member of numerous juries and advisory boards for national and international architecture awards.
