Xavier Rubert de Ventós
(Barcelona, 1939) Professor of Aesthetics at the Escola d’Arquitectura of Barcelona
He has taught in Harvard, Cincinnati, Mexico, Berkeley and New York, where he established the Barcelona-New York Chair and the New York Institute for Humanities.
He has written widely on aesthetics and philosophy (Teoria de la sensibilitat, Per què filosofia, Ética sin atributos, De la modernidad), and has also developed a critical reflection on political issues (El laberinto de la hispanidad, El cortesà i el seu fantasma, Nacionalismos). He obtained the Lletra d’Or of Catalan Literature and the Anagrama, Espejo de España and Josep Pla prizes.
