Pelin Derviş

Architect, independent editor, curator and member of the Expert Committee of the European Prize for Urban Public Space since the 2012 edition.


Pelin Derviş is an architect, independent editor and curator. Her main interests are contemporary urban issues and documentation of modern architecture in Turkey. She has been editor of publications like Becoming Istanbul (2008), Tracing Istanbul [from the air] (2009), Mapping Istanbul (2009) and An Atypical Practice DS (2016). She participated in the founding and development of SALT, a cultural institution that documents art, architecture, design and urbanism in contemporary Turkey and where she was curator of the exhibition Performance of Modernity: Atatürk Kültür Merkezi, 1946-1977. She also collaborates with the Istanbul Modern, an art museum where she coordinates the exhibitions of Vitra Contemporary Architecture Series and the Young Architects Program (YAP). She has coordinated the project for the Turkish Pavilion at the fourteenth Venice Biennale, as well. Derviş is a member of the Expert Committee of the European Prize for Urban Public Space since the 2012 edition.
