Performance Architecture is an international competition of ideas with a view to selecting proposals for five temporary urban interventions as part of the activities for the European Capital of Culture Guimarães 2012 project. The competition, which will be open until 6 January, aims to chart architectural and urban planning strategies that explore new suggestions as to the role of architects, artists and designers in the urban setting.
The Jury, with Pedro Gadanho as its president, will assess proposals for ephemeral installations, actions, happenings and temporary urban interventions that aim to favour appropriation of the city’s public spaces.
The City Council will bring into being the five projects that are deemed to be the best among the entries to the competition.
