Konrad Buhagiar

Valletta (Malta)
Architect, associate professor at the University of Malta, a founding member of Architecture Project and member of the Expert Committee of the European Prize for Urban Public Space since the 2012 edition.


The architect Konrad Buhagiar is an visitor professor at the University of Malta and an associate professor at the Centre for Sustainable Heritage at the University College of London, at the International Summer School in Conservation of Historical, Monumental and Archaeological Sites of the University Tor Vegata of Rome, and the Aix-Marseille Université. He was head architect in the Antiquities Section of the Ministry of Public Works of Malta and has also been President of the Heritage Advisory Committee of the Malta Environment and Planning Authority, as well as of the Valletta Rehabilitation Committee. He is a founder-member of the Architecture Project network and co-editor of the book The Founding Myths of Architecture. Buhagiar has been a member of the Expert Committee of the European Prize for Urban Public Space since the 2012 award.
